PRO-SHIFT CUSTOMER PHIL ARMES CRACKS CLASSIC TT!
When Phil Armes broke his back in a 1995 racing accident, he thought he would never get on a motorbike again. Now, 21 years later, not being one for giving in, Phil has journeyed to get back on a bike and return to the Isle of Man TT course. This has finally come to realization with the help of the Pro-Shift PS2-R Buttonshift System!
On Monday 29th August 2016, Norwich's Former World F1 Championship competitor took on the most famous circuit in the world, the full 37 plus miles of the public-road Mountain Track of the Isle of Man Classic TT.
In his own words Phil describes the return as "probably the hardest thing I have ever done on a bike, not made any easier by my throttle/brake hand being numb from about halfway around the lap. Certainly made the very last corner, Governors Bridge, pretty entertaining!!"
He adds: "The Pro-Shift unit worked without a hitch, and certainly contributed in no small way to me completing the lap; especially once I was battling against a numb hand; so many, many thanks."
Phil is now the only paraplegic in the world to complete a solo lap of the TT!
Here at Pro-Shift we are all very happy for Phil's achievement and proud to be able to support and help him fulfil his goal.
