PRO-SHIFT PARTNERS FORMULA 1000 CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES IN USA
Pro-Shift Technologies are delighted to have recently become a partner in the new USA professional race series, the Formula 1000 Championship which will begin in 2012.This is an open wheel auto racing series sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing and consists of 10 races over 5 events on the Eastern half of North America. It is anticipated the series will grow to a maximum of 14 races with additional events on the West coast in years to come.The cars are powered by 1 litre 4 cylinder motorcycle engines that rev to 12,000 rpm with power ranges of 180 hp. As they weigh only 1000 lbs (including the driver) they are more than capable of attaining speeds in excess of 160 mph. These are ideal vehicles to show case Pro-Shift's most sophisticated Semi-automatic Gearshifting System to date, the PS3, which boasts of winning the IMSA Prototype Lites Championship for John Weisberg only months after its release in 2010 amongst its achievements.Pro-Shift MD Roy Tansley commented "I know our Paddle-shift System is up there with the best in the world and working with Formula 1000 will give us the perfect stage on which to prove it".
