Pro-Shift PS2 Car System

Pro-Shift 2 Bespoke Gearshifting System (PS2) - Button Shift (Paddles Optional)

This is our  fully bespoke racing system that is operated by our solid state Gearshift Control Unit (GCU) featuring fully adjustable timed operation for:-  Upshift/Downshift, Ignition Interrupt, Auto-Blip and Downshift Delay, this will allow fully adjustable timed “flat” upshifting and also offering seamless clutchless downshifting when integrated with our Auto-Blip Downshifter. In most cases this comes with all the fixings required to bolt the system straight on to your chosen engine/gearbox. The PS2 system consists of a high performance gearshift actuator housed in a bright anodised aluminium casing, solid state PS2 GCU, power/control harnesses manufactured from aviation spec cable, upshift/downshift operation buttons and where possible a gearlever manufactured and plated to suit the vehicle.

The Pro-Shift PS2 System provides the option of fully time adjustable "flat" upshifting using the ignition cut module incorporated in the solid state Gearshift Control Unit (GCU).

Offering typical ignition cut times of around 20mS which we believe to be the fastest commercially available, also if the vehicle is fitted with a high specification after market ignition then graduated ignition cuts may be available.

The characteristics of our electronic operation are such that when initiating a gearshift the gearshift actuator delivers a rising power curve from its rest position (unlike pneumatic or hydraulic systems) this is ideally suited to dog gearbox gearshifting because it is mechanically sympathetic and by its nature achieves compliance with the gears whilst gearshifting, this gives the highly desirable benefit of prolonging gearbox life. The nature of a solenoid actuated gearshifting systems are that they exhibit built in safety features, for example if the downshift paddle is pulled whilst accelerating the Pro-Shift System will not downshift as the initial low power start up would not to pull an engaged gearbox "dog" out of gear whilst loaded.
The system’s electronic operation with only one moving part provides inherent reliability and with relatively simple installation it is ideally suited to racing vehicle applications, another critical advantage it holds over air systems is that it does not produce water when used and is therefore virtually maintenance free. 

With regard to downshifting, the Pro-Shift PS2 Gearshift Control Unit (GCU) also features a time adjustable downshift "blipper" output along with a downshift delay timer, if used in conjunction with our downshift “blipper”, this will allow seamless clutchless downshifting that can be fine tuned to suit any engine/gearbox combination and features unique rev related variable throttle openings so as to match differing downshifting requirements.

The amount of throttle “blip” executed will not rev the engine above a set ceiling and thus prevents drivers from accidentally overreving on downshifts, avoiding potential engine or gearbox damage.

The downshift “blipper” will push with up to 11kg of force and is suitable for anything from V10 supercars to motorcycle engines.

To compliment the PS2 System we recommend that our Titanium Paddle Solution is used, offering instant fingertip operation this gives the driver more time to concentrate on the road.

Giving “F1” type feel, fully hand span and offset adjustable the Titanium Paddles can be fitted to any steering wheel.

Optional Extras:

Titanium Paddle Solution

This replaces the standard systems button operation and is compatible with the PS2. The body is designed to fit on almost every “QD” steering wheel and we can also provide a six bolt adapter for rally type fixings. It is bright black anodized and engraved with the Pro-Shift logo whilst the ergonomically designed finger plates are made of Titanium, hand span and offset adjustable.

Auto-Blip Downshifter

This is a modular system that is specifically designed to integrate only with the PS2 Gearshift Control Unit’s Downshift Delay and Auto-Blip outputs.
Its unique patented design not only provides variable “blips” which are engine rev related to provide not only seamless, clutchless downshifting but also gives inherent overrev protection when downshifting preventing costly engine/gearbox damage, all at the touch of a button.
